Conference on Sarcopenia, Cachexia and Muscle Wasting – invitation by Prof Anker


Hello everybody My name is Stefan Anker and I’m the president of the SWD society As you may know we are now doing the Cachexia Congress annually and this year the Congress will take place in Berlin on the 10 and 11 of December You’re all invited and we’re looking forward to a great program The meeting will cover cachexia, sarcopenia, frailty and any muscle problems relating to symptom development, catabolism, anabolic issues and then also of course to increased mortality rates All of this will be discussed at the meeting We will focus from basic science to nutrition to drugs and then also news results in clinical trials of humans We will also have in this congress for the first time two innovative sessions These sessions will be a workshop on statistics and secondly a mentoring event particularly for young colleagues where top experts in the cachexia / sarcopenia world will meet young ambitious people to really discuss how they can have a better career All of this will happen in December in Berlin The deadline for the original abstract submission has passed and we have already received 80 abstracts from many countries in the world As we always do we have a late-breaking science submission and also expect another fifty to a hundred abstracts there The deadline is September 30 and in case you are worried we have of course at the same day our reduced fee registration limit but those who submit an abstract will get an extended limit Of course you can always write to me at [email protected] and basically ask for any problem resolution if you have one Otherwise please check out the website cachexia.org – you’ll find all the information You’ll also find a preliminary program which is essentially 95% the final program We’d love to have you all in Berlin Let’s have a great congress This is an important medical field and we need your help Thank you
