How To Jump Rope Like A Boxer | Boxer Skipping Made Easy

Kyle Easter: My name is Kyle Easter, and I’m
the creator of where I help you learn to jump rope, lose weight, and have
fun doing it. Do you wanna learn the boxer skip? Well, you’ve come to the right place because
that’s exactly what’s going down in this video. I’m gonna break the move down, so you can
start mastering it ASAP. Are you ready? Let’s do this. If you are unfamiliar, this is the boxer skip. It is a jump rope skill utilized by, you guessed
it, boxers. While it is a pretty basic skill, it can be
difficult to learn. Notice how it is performed. You jump off one foot, shifting your weight
to the other foot that you land on. Then you tap the toe of the non-landing foot
to the ground, and repeat the process. Let’s break it down without the rope, so you
can get a feel for the movement. Here we will exaggerate the skill by jumping
off one foot to the side, and landing on the other foot. As you land, tap the other foot to the ground
without putting much weight on it. Repeat the process back and forth in each
direction. Once you have that down, perform the skill
jumping in one sport, and gradually increase the tempo. Notice you can do two jumps on one foot while
tapping the other foot twice before switching to the other side. Feel free to mix it up, and create different
patterns, even try one like this. Once you have the boxer skip down, you can
start adding some style to it. Here I am adding in a bit of a boxer shuffle
to add in more movement. You can also add in a side swing, or a crisscross. Just remember to have fun with it, and feel
the flow. I hope you enjoyed this video, and if you

I can do consecutive double unders but I haven't gotten to the triple unders trick yet.. I really want learn that so any tips will be appreciated! Thanks!

  5. 2 left first is different from two right first depending on what foot goes first and essentially which foot points down first
